Walk G took a gentle circular route around the village of East Bergholt, where John Constable grew up. We circled the village clockwise, using the old Donkey Track to reach the site of the 'Spring' mezzotint. After a brief portion along a busy Mill Road, we were soon on an adventure through open fields and winding our way through the undergrowth on a variety of paths and trails around the southern edge of the village. Once we reached the western side of the village, we took a look at the ‘Summer Evening’ mezzotint and the view down to Dedham. We then took some time to explore the curious church in East Bergholt before making our way to the viewpoint for the ‘Autumnal Sunset’ mezzotint.
