The Cyclopean tomb is one of the three earliest tholoi known at Mycenae, dating to ca. 1600-1500 BCE. A.J.B. Wace and his team investigated it in 1922. The tomb takes its name from the ‘Cyclopean’ masonry that formed the walls of the chamber: large undressed pieces of limestone and conglomerate packed together.
