<p style='text-align: justify;'>Colour photograph of Maxwell's Zoetrope from 1861 which enabled moving pictures to be created. He drew several zoetrope strips for scientific illustration. A model of a triatomic molecule consisting of three interacting votices is depicted inside the zoetrope. Maxwell replaced the slits by convex lenses, focussing the images on the axis of the zoetrope.</p>
