<p style='text-align: justify;'>The moveable antenna of the interferometer which created the North Polar survey in 1962. This was a proof of principle experiment of the technique of Earth-rotation aperture synthesis. The fixed and moving antennae of the 4C interferometer were aligned east-west and this moveable antenna was used to fill in the missing aperture spacings to create a fully sampled map about the north celestial pole. The sucess of this survey led to the construction of the pioneering One-Mile and 5-km telescopes.</p>
