<p style='text-align: justify;'>The generator purchased cheap by Kapitsa, always referred to as the ‘tramways generator’. It was used by Kapitsa to generate strong magnetic fields by driving it up to speed using a small auxiliary motor and then short-circuiting the terminals across the magnetic field coil.</p>
