<p style='text-align: justify;'>This was the main component of the counting equipment used with the 1 MV accelerator in the High Tension Laboratory. Its construction was based on thyratrons, which are clearly seen in the photograph. The top of the amplifier is underneath. The designers and inventors were C.E. Wynn-Williams and W.B. Lewis.</p>
