<p style='text-align: justify;'>Snapshot of E. Rutherford on the occasion of the 1934 annual photograph. Rutherford was Langworthy Professor of Physics at Manchester University from 1907-1919. In 1919 he succeeded JJ Thomson as Cavendish Professor. He died suddenly in 1937 of a strangulated hernia.</p>
