<p style='text-align: justify;'><p>This leaf is from the single known manuscript of the <i>Book of Gifts</i> by Shubḥalmaran, described by Lane as a collection of five writings on asceticism and one on the Last Things. This leaf consists of the end of Part I, the first gift (renunciation), and the beginning of Part II, the second gift (detachment from home).</p><p>Shubḥalmaran [also Šubḥalmaran] (d. 620?) was an early C7th Metropolitan from Beth Seloq, modern-day Kirkuk, in Iraq.</p></p>
