The former refectory still possessed wall paintings in 1952. In a print of 1730, the refectory/barn seemed to be in reasonable condition; the fenestration was still complete and the roof thatched. Relhan however shows the deteriorating condition of the windows, some boarded over or blocked by brickwork, and rendering that has fallen from the walls. By 2018 the small transept has been removed, one buttress has left a scar and two have been added to the N wall with a patchwork of brick repairs; the old rendering has been removed revealing the stone walls, the roof is covered with a corrugated roofing material.

Davis EM pers comm; Taylor 1998: VCH 1967, 1989
