<p style='text-align: justify;'><p>William North, 6th Baron North and 2nd Baron Grey (1678–1734) was a professional soldier, fighting under the <a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Churchill,_1st_Duke_of_Marlborough'>Duke of Marlborough</a>(including the Battle of Blenheim), sat in the House of Lords and held political posts until the death of Queen Anne. Then, as a Jacobite and suspected of plotting against George I, he left to fight for King Philip V of Spain and died in Madrid. He was succeeded by his cousin <a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_North,_1st_Earl_of_Guilford'>Francis North, 1st Earl of Guilford</a>, whose son and heir was Frederick North, 2nd Earl of Guildford. This Lord North, Prime Minister 1770 to 1782, is best known for the American War of Independence (<b>232</b>).</p><p>ODNB online; Venn</p></p>
