Relhan Collection : 143 Fen Ditton church. Mural tablet to Willys family 1625-1724 (shields of arms only)
Relhan, Richard, 1782-1844
Relhan Collection

The large family wall monument in the chancel comprises two black marble tablets flanked and separated by white marble strips on which are shields of arms. He shows the whole monument but as the text area is black has copied only the shields, which are (ignoring blanks): 1st column: Willys, Willys impaling Henmarsh, Willys Bart. impaling Wylde; 2nd column: Willys Bart., Willys Bart., impaling Savage, Willys Bart. That only six of 18 tablets have been used between 1625 and 1724 declares that the family expected to be around for a long time. See (144-145).

Saunders P pers comm
