<p style='text-align: justify;'>Upper part of a letter from Elijah the judge to Joseph ha-Sar (possibly the brother of Abraham he-Ḥasid ha-Sar). Elijah is surprised that Joseph has not answered the Rayyis’s letter about the ʿušārī (a Nile boat used for personal and commercial transport). The Rayyis in question was probably Abraham Maimonides. Ca. early 13th century.</p>
