Recto: letter requesting help with paying the jizya poll tax (תדפעִי לִי שי פִי אלמס), from the cantor (אלחזן) Abū Faḍaʾīl. Unusually the letter is addressing a woman, Sitt Futūn ('Mistress of Charm'). It concludes in the margin, with a reference to carrying out the ransoming of prisoners, and is prefaced with 5 lines of biblical quotations. Verso: contains a short Judaeo-Arabic text in a different (cruder) hand, perhaps as a writing exercise or draft.
