A Kohen in financial difficulties, the father of female children, asks the Nagid (Mevoraḵ b. Saʿadya, active 1079-1111 CE) to allow him to beg throughout the Rīf (countryside). He requests two letters of recommendation, one from the notable Abū l-Mufaḍḍal (possibly to be identified with Abū l-Mufaḍḍal Nathaniel b. Yefet). On recto are draft openings of letters and the name Ṣedaqa b. Solomon ha-Levi.
