Petition from Moses b. ʿAmram ha-Mumḥe b. Ḥalfon he-Ḥaver to a highly placed courtier, Zaʿim al-Mulk ‘Leader of the Kingdom’ (also addressed as ‘Sar’ and al-ḥaḍra al-sāmiyya ‘his High Excellency’), in Old Cairo. This individual may in fact be the Nagid Mevoraḵ b. Saʿadya (1079-1111 CE). Moses asks the courtier to help him retrieve the inheritance of his grandfather in al-Ramle, which was taken away by the Muslim Maʾmūn al-Dawla after the death of his grandmother.
