Part of a letter, c. 1050 CE, written by Samuel b. Moses he-Ḥaver, in Tyre, to ʿEli he-Ḥaver ha-Meʿulle b. ʿAmram he-Ḥasid, in Fusṭāṭ, regarding money sent from Fusṭāṭ, by sea via Tyre, en route to Tiberias. The donation totals almost 14 dinars, from Solomon b. Saʿadya, to whom greetings are sent, and are intended for those seeking treatment in the hot springs at Tiberias. The letter and the money had been addressed to Samuel ha-Levi b. Šemarya, an elder in the Tyre Jewish community, and is now on its way to Tiberias in the care of a trustworthy man who will deliver it to the elders to distribute.
