<p style='text-align: justify;'>Part of a letter, c. 1039 CE, written by Solomon ‘the lesser, Head of the Yešiva of the Pride of Jacob’ (i.e. the Gaʾon Solomon b. Judah), to Ephraim ‘the Ḥaver in the Great Sanhedrin’ b. Šemarya, concerning the discord within the Jerusalem academy, and the activities of his rival Nathan b. Abraham, who is courting the support of prominent Karaites that were supposedly supporters of the Gaʾon. </p>
