Verso: draft of a letter, from the travelling scholar Maṣliaḥ b. Jacob, to Maymūn, a famed philanthropist, to whom Maṣliaḥ resorts for help in returning to his homeland. The traveller has come to Fusṭāṭ solely in the hope of obtaining Maymūn’s help, and he wants to set sail by Passover. Also mentions Maymūn’s oldest son Jacob. </p>
