<p style='text-align: justify;'>Fragment of a letter from Malīḥa, in Romania (i.e. part of the Byzantine Empire), to her brothers Abū Saʿīd and Solomon, whom she misses greatly, complaining that neither of them has made the effort to bring her and her daughter Zoe from Byzantium to Egypt. She also misses ‘our lord the fourth’. She had not travelled with the bearer of the letter as the portents from looking into the Torah scroll were not favourable. </p>
