MP wish to have ST's opinion of MS's suggestion of shipping to London rather than Glasgow; MP think Glasgow preferable for 'quick sales, good prices, or secure payments'. Recommends MS to get the consent of ST to try a continental market for their coffee and rum when an opportunity presents itself. They have insured the Caledonia's cargo to a certain extent. They enclose [not found] a copy of a remonstrance from ST to the Board of Trade about sugars from estates mortgaged to Dutch subjects, and the reply, 'in order to get a free and competent discharge from S.
