Page from a notebook recording the expenditure and income of the Mustaʿrib community of Cairo, listing several charitable transactions within the community, such as a donation to the daughter of a member of the Al-Šuwayḵ family who was facing economic hardship, or a donation made to a 'Kurdish orphan, of five silver (fiḍḍa), to help with paying his poll tax'. It records that Moses ʿAdanī similarly received help in paying the poll tax in 1590 CE. New arrivals to the community are noted, as provisions are provided 'for a lady from Kafr Kanna' (in the Galilee) and 'for the Aden lady'. For a description of the notebook, see Arad (2017).
