Part of a letter from the community of Dhū Jibla, Yemen, probably addressed to the community of Aden, concerning a legal case over a trust. The letter concerns the late Bundār, brother of the nagid Maḍmūn b. Yefet, and seems to be apologising for the terms in which an earlier legal complaint had been forced to address Maḍmūn. Translated in full in Goitein and Friedman (2008: 390-5), and edited (with a translation into Hebrew) in Goitein and Friedman, 'India Book II: Maḍmūn Nagid of Yemen and the India Trade' (2010: 249-54). Verso contains a formula (it uses פ׳ בר פל׳ in place of a specific name) for a magical charm, written in a different hand, with characteres.
