Cairo Genizah

<p style='text-align: justify;'>Liturgical fragment, headed כהן[ ], and referring to עדת בני צדוק, ‘the community of the Ṣadoqites’. First published by I. Lévi (1913: 24-31), it has been connected with the terminology of the Karaites and of Qumran. There is a full edition, translation and study in Martone (2025: 135-146), but see Outhwaite (<a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='https://www.lib.cam.ac.uk/collections/departments/taylor-schechter-genizah-research-unit/fragment-month/fotm-2025/fragment-0'>2025</a>). There is a Tiberian ḥolem on עֹז, in the same ink as the consonants. </p>
