<p style='text-align: justify;'>Recto: legal document, in which Joseph b. Isaac al-Fāsī gives a gift of money (owed to him by Muvḥar ha-Kohen b. Jacob as well as capital held by Joseph b. Ephraim b. Yahboy) to his daughter Sitt al-Ḥusn in Alexandria, and appoints his wife Sitt al-ʿAšīr bat Barhūn as legal guardian of the daughter. Also mentions the wife’s son (and Joseph’s step-son) Joseph b. Ismail b. al-Kunuzī and two cousins, Diyun (?) b. Maymūn and Yunas b. Maymūn. Dated 4857 of the Era of Creation (= 1097 CE). Verso: statement to the court by ʿArūs Abū l-Afrāḥ b. Joseph (known from many accounts in the Genizah) concerning the gift of all his possessions to his wife Sitt al-Kull bat Abraham b. Ṭibān, with further stipulations concerning their children. Below is the beginning of another witness statement. In the margin is a draft of a witness statement in the hand of Hillel b. ʿEli, which mentions a gift from Barhūn b. Yaḥyā to Ṣedaqa ha-Kohen b.
