A 19th-century paper manuscript in devanāgarī script of the Gītagovinda with Bālabodhinī commentary by Caitanyadāsa, a Bengali Vaiṣṇava scholar active in Vṛndāvan in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century. This commentary follows the longer recension of Jayadeva's poem, and it interprets the amourous relationship between Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa as an allegory of the love between the soul and the deity. The manuscript presents major marginal corrections and its scribe Haridāsa, just like the author of the commentary, copied it in Vṛndāvan.
