A paper manuscript of the Dharmopaplavakhaṇḍana by Vedāntavāgīśa Bhaṭṭācārya. Vedāntavāgīśa was the student of a Vedānta scholar named Nārāyaṇa Sarasvatī. This work aims to refute claims to the effect that Hindu religious practices (dharma) such as sacrificing animals are reprehensible. The author begins his work by arguing that sacrificing animals does not involve gratuitous violence (rāgaprāptahiṃsā) and is tolerable within the boundaries of ritual practice.
